YBZZB Braking resistor is a functional element used to consume the regenerated energy of motor braking in the form of heat energy. This series is mainly divided into fan cooled resistors and natural air self-cooled braking resistors.

(1) YBZZBF Fan cooled braking resistor: The cooling air source provided by a heat elimination fan is equipped to dissipates the heat generated by the resistor’s heating elements. The resistor can be equipped with dual-speed fan or a fixed-speed fan, depending on practical needs. It is applied to the next generation metro.

(2) YBZZBN Natural air self cooled braking resistor: When the train operates, the resistor installed on the train moves together, and the heating elements get cooled by the air current brought by the traveling speed. The insulated natural air cooled braking resistors can be roughly divided into two kinds, integrated and split, among which the integrated insulated braking resistors are divided into two types base on their installation: those to install on top of the train roof and those to sling underneath the train carriage. These resistors have been serving on Beijing Rail Transit line 13, Beijing Rail Transit Batong line and Batong line South Extension.
